M-m-m-m-Mad Mad MAD.

I fell in love with this song when I heard it on 987fm. This is the first single titled "Madness" from the latest album: "The 2nd Law"
In my opinion, this is the first song which gives me a feeling that's kind of special. I find Matthew Bellamy's voice kinda sexy in this song.
I can somehow feel that they're trying to stress the word "Madness" in this song. First, the part where it begins with m-m-m-m-m-Mad Mad Mad. Then, at 2:02-2:04 when another person comes in and sing it. Follow by the part which I like the most, at 2:24-2:27 when all the backup singers sang it together with him. It was just simply awesome~ (:
But I don't understand why people dislike the song so much...hmmm.
Anws, thats all for now! (:

Don't make the same mistake again.

Deep down in my heart, I asked myself this question: "Am I holding on to something I should let go of?"
I said something to my friend which made me think again.
I was rather shocked I said that.
"If I never make the first move, you wouldn't have known that I existed. Maybe you would have noticed me, but nothing would have happened."
Sigh. Not gonna think too much about it.
Anyway, here's a song to share with you! (:
Enjoy~

I've got a life!

I'm entering into the 4th week of my orientation.
Tomorrow is my BCLS test date and I'm here blogging. My mind is filled with a lot of stuff and I'm seriously not in the mood to study!
Anyway, just wanna share how I feel...
As I started work as a RN, I begin to ask myself the questions over and over again. Where did my passion go? Why did I take up the bond? I convinced my parents that since I will work as a nurse after I've graduated, why not take up the bond? But as I think about the huge responsibilities, the need to constantly know what's going on, and so on...I kind of regretted my decision. I have to serve this 3 years bond. I can't walk out and say: "Hey! I'M OUTTA HERE!!!"
All I can do right now is to trust God and just go on with life with Him by my side.
Anyway, working as a nurse in the General Wards with 3 rotating shifts, it can be very tiring for a newbie like me. I'm still in the process of getting used to it. Everyday go home sleep, wake up, eat...and sleep again. Where  to find the extra time to study?
So I realise that even though this job is taking up a lot of my time, I shouldn't let it take away my life.
So I actually came up with a few plans! Hehe. Gonna learn how to plan the things I wanna do and will not stop doing.
Like scrapbooking...and start learning violin again.
Not only that!  I've actually plan it in a way like I will go on a tour like once a month to gain more knowledge other than Nursing...(eg: going to museums.) & also pampering myself with treats. MACARONS! GODIVA! =D yea, that's about it at the moment.
Gonna try this one of these days! Maybe tmr?? (:
Tried the Original one in TW. Speechless. (;

The pictures below are also some of the things I wanna try! (:
JP Darcis Macarons @ MBS.
Canele's Macarons.
Godiva Gems.

Comfort Food.

What a Saturday!

Went to see Andy Warhol's and the Titanic exhibition with Suhaila yesterday...

'Andrew Warhola (6 August 1928 – 22 February 1987), better known as Andy Warhol, was
an American painter, printmaker, and filmmaker. He was a leading figure in the visual art
movement known as Pop Art and was renowned for using mass production of popular
culture such as advertising, comic books, and brand products, as the basis of his art.' (from MBS)
He was a guy who is fascinated with simple things. Enjoyed the exhibition! (:

Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal
Next up is the Titanic exhibition!
Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition
This exhibition is really worth the money. Pretty long walk inside the museum itself.
Anyway, through this exhibition, I got a better understanding of the Titanic, and I could find myself walking through the Titanic...the different parts of it. And have seen a lot of the artifacts that were found in/outside of the Titanic itself. It was really cool. But kind of sad that people have lost their lives because of some people's decisions. Sigh.

Anyway, so after the exhibition, we went home...and on the way home, I saw TWG! And was drawn in to TWG by their macarons. Hehe. So bought a box of 6 to bring home to try! (:
TWG's macarons are basically different physically from Bakerzin, Jewels Artisan Chocolate and Canele's one. TWG's macarons are much bigger.
As I bite into the macarons, it's very different from the ones I ate all the places above.
Let's talk about the shell first. I was a bit disappointed with the Earl Grey and Chocolate one because I didn't get the chewy feeling as I eat it. But the Napoleon Tea & Caramel one was alright. It was quite chewy. But the shells of the macarons are matte not shiny. And the shells are not crunchy.
But I love their fillings. It was the first time I've eaten macarons with fillings that are gel like. Or thick. Not those cupcake kind of filling, those melt in the mouth filling.
And the thing I love the most about their macarons are their not so sweet! And it's super cool how every one of their macarons are tea infused macarons. Really cool.
If you were to ask me if I would buy their macarons again, it would be a 70% chance I would purchase TWG's macarons again.
Now, let the pictures do the talking!

SMILE! (:

Really glad my parents loved the dinner I cook for them yesterday and today! (:
I'm been wanting to cook Aglio Olio for a long long time...but I just couldn't get it right.
My spaghetti tastes like spaghetti (duhh~)...as in there's like this flour smell. Just couldn't get rid of it.
And it's like a bit dry and bland in short.
But this time round, I succeeded! My spaghetti is just nice, not so hard or soft, and it's really sweet, cos I added prawns in it.
So I came up with this conclusion/formula/solution?
To cook Aglio Olio, ALWAYS add salt into the water before you cook your spaghetti in it.
Next, DON'T wait till your EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil (EVOO) to heat up before you add your garlic. Add your garlic and evoo together...so that the smell of the garlic is infused into the oil.
Lastly, use EVOO instead of OO.
And I always have this problem. For baking I will always use recipes and make sure I've got the measurements right. But for cooking, I just won't follow recipes. Maybe I will...but I'll add what I think is enough. As in I won't follow the recipe's measurements. But thank God my Aglio Olio finally turned out well! (:
Prawn Aglio Olio
Fish Cake wanton
Tomato Soup

Haha, my mum was like telling me how much she loves the prawns. I followed the western way of cooking the prawns actually...adding just salt and pepper. The prawny smell was gone, and I could actually taste the sweetness and freshness of the prawns. (but a lil' tooooooo sweet for me!)
For the fish cake wanton, I sort of copied and modified it from the auntie selling chinese noodles in my sceondary school.
I always love to eat fried wanton. Especially those super simple wanton. Like just wanton with prawn paste. I love to eat simple food. Plain porridge. Plain noodle. Plain Chee Cheong Fun. Plain kuehs without all the fillings. Haha, You can say I'm weird. =P
So back to the wanton. When I first came upon this $0.50 fried fish cake wanton, I couldn't help but think of it all day long. No matter where I am, this $0.50 fried wanton is filling my whole mind. So I decided that one day, instead of buying the $0.50 fried fish cake wanton which is not really worth it because it's wanton skin and a PIECE of fish cake. So I went to Fairprice and bought one pack of wanton skin and fish cake.
To make it worth a bite, I diced the fish cake and added a whole lot of it into the wanton skin and fried it. Haha. Shiok ttm man! (:
So next up, tomato soup. Another story. Haha. When I first came upon this soup, I said "Mine-strone" soup. Haha. But I was wrong. Later then I know it's called "Mi-ne-stro-ne" soup.
Yeaps, because I like minestrone soup, I decided to make tomato soup instead of minestrone soup. My tomato soup is way much simpler then minestrone soup.
I just added 5 tomatoes and one big onion to a lil' bit of water. Don't know how much. Oops! I don't measure, like I have told ya. Though it tastes a bit bland at first, but as I cooked it longer, it taste just nice, but a lil' bit sourish. (duhh, it's tomato, what do you expect.) =x
Okays, so that's abt it!
A bit long-winded today! =x
Byes~

Looking Foward...!

Looking forward to Good Friday which is this coming Friday! (:
I can't wait to bake macarons...AGAIN!
Mistakes from the previous batch of macarons:
Not enough colouring, a lil' brown, left it in the oven for a lil' too long...
So this time round, I hope I can bake macarons for the TGIF party!
I'm so inspired by Kevin & Amanda when I saw their posts on macarons! (:

Here's one picture to show you guys!

Isn't it tempting???

Dream House.

Since young, I'm a very stubborn child. Haha. In my family, I'm the only person who will always change the design in my room. Like every Jan/Feb when my relatives come over, they will be seeing a 'different' room.
I like to design and stuff. And this is where my stubborn-ness comes in. Once I've thought of a design, I'll start to shift my cabinets and tables, even if my dad refuses to help me. Haha.
Those were the days man, when a 9 year old child shifted her tables and beds.
Anyway, I'm sort of looking forward to having my own house where I can design it! =D
My dream house:
Wooden floors. Preferably light brown.
Kitchen: A big kitchen. A big oven. A big space for me to put the dishes I've finished cooking/table. White cupboards.
Room: White paint, White table, brown racks to put my violin, and white chairs or cushions.
Toilet: Mosaic tiles (blue), sea shells toilet cover, blue toilet bowl, mirror with cupboard.
I would love to have Lego walls too. (:
That's all I can think of. Anws, still far from having my own house.
Happy dreaming! (:

Now I understand why she loves the F-word so much.

Currently on H.O.L.I.D.A.Y! (:
Counting down...16/17 more days to start work officially in TTSH.
Anyways, been spending time at home surfing the net.
Met up with my good friend on Tues, so I bought a pair of pants with her from River Island. Then she introduced Chriselle Lim to me. A wardrobe stylist who has videos on Youtube. (:
So I went to see her videos and learnt some tips on how to dress and stuff. (:
I also went to lookbook.nu to see how people dress.
I went to a few UK blogs to see how they dress too. So inspired!
I realised Caucasians are very bold in terms of their dressing.
Like they pair a black blazer with a neon pink shirt with a pair of galaxy pant and a bluish-green clutch. And they can just pull it off like that. So simple.
European countries also have a lot of thrift shops where you can get vintage accessories or clothes at less than SGD 10!
But I was lucky I came upon a few sites which provides FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING!
Muahahaha! Just like my friend said, It's really good because you can find affordable, nice and not-so-common pieces there. (:
I find it satisfying that out of the hundred thousands of clothes, I've only managed to buy like 6 of it. I've resisted temptations! (just kidding, haha.)
Though I've seen how people pair it but sometimes I find it a bit weird to wear it in SG compared to other countries. And I might not pull of the look. But nevertheless, I'm still gonna try it anyways!
A few F.I.S sites I've came across are:
With Asos my favorite because I find it more user friendly!
Lastly, I'm addicted to Jessie J's songs! She writes really nice songs and she sound really good even if it's live.
A song which I've just heard today and is addicted to is Laserlight; Jessie J ft. David G. Nice.

Go, I choose YOU!

Went back to NYP ytd, meet up with my friends! (:
Anws, was having breakfast with them @ McDonald's then don't know why they started talking about Pokemon...haha!
So in the end I ended up dl-ing it on my BB! HAHA! (:
Really bring back a lot of memories...of me having to share one gameboy with sooooo many cousins. Haha...(:
Those were the days! (:
While playing it ytd evening, I got rather pekchek because after such a long way, I've got to return to the Prof's house which is the starting point of where I came from...just to let him see the pokemon which has just hatched! The thing which makes me so pekchek is that I've to go through the forest which is so irritating! Because every few steps I take, I'll meet a pokemon. =.= and it kinda waste time...having to run away or fight them.
But I've learnt some things about God! Hahaha...
It reminds me that life is somehow like a game.
Like how I've come so far in life or in my walk with God...then because of some things, I've backslided in my walk with God or that I've done some things wrong and I need to start from square 1 again. So I need to go through ALL THOSE OBSTACLES again.
But thank God, I know that I've Him with me as I go through all those different stages in life! (:
I can believe that no matter what happens in life, it's for my own good & there's a reason! (:

Tampines One...

I'm finally back to updating my blog again! (:

Went to Tampines One a month ago after I send my brother off to Pulau Tekong...
So I happen to pass by this Japanese bakery @ B1, Yamazaki. (psst, I'm not a fan of bread btw).
I was attracted to this oval shaped sponge cake which is strawberry flavoured...(:
I was really surprised it tasted really good...the plus point about it is that it's the SOFTEST sponge cake I've tasted so far! (:
Really delicious...if you drop by Tampines One, you should try it.
I think it's their first and only branch in Singapore...
Here's a picture of it...

Anyway, after a few days, I went to Tampines again!
This time it was to collect the Bath & Body works products which I've bought online! (:
I really liked it...Bath & Body Works is a company founded in Ohio and it carries toiletries and similar kind of products which has a wide range of collection. Their products are pretty cool because it smells nice and they have like apple scent to cinnamon scent! Kinda different from the other companies I've seen. (:
Well, here's a picture again! (:

Travel Tips 101

Just wanna share 2 travel tips with you here! (:
Have you ever been so vexed over how to organise your travel toiletries to make easier to bring along with you on your trip?
No more worries!
One: Save the hassle of bringing sooooo many clear cases!
Get yourself a stackable clear casing like the one seen below. (:
You can purchase this from Daiso though they're known to put accessories. But if they don't leak, why not use it for your beauty cream? (:
Or Muji for $3 ++.
Two: Get a hanging toiletries bag.
This way, you can bring all your stuff to the toilet and hang it somewhere to prevent it from getting wet.
And maybe put your clothes somewhere in the bag! Isn't it more convenient? (:

So that's all for now! (:
Byes~

Fresh Start.

Guess I haven't been blogging for like 2 months?
Hmmm, been busy with attachment and stuff for the past few months...
Time passes really fast yea?
In a month's time, which is 4 weeks more, it's the end of my attachment in TTSH. And after which, i'm flying to Taiwan with my family members the next day! (: (rly hope everything goes well!)
Then to Bali with my poly mates after the TW trip.
Really hope to go to Muar with my cell group as well.
Btws, 2 more after I come back from TW, I'm going for this 4 hours baking class. Woots! Really can't wait to learn how to bake those delicious macarons! (;
Talking about baking, which reminds me of how I failed terribly at making ice cream cone cupcakes for my friends. Will NEVER try that again.
Anyway, I don't know when I started picking up baking. But what I remember was I stopped using cake/cookie mix by Betty Crocker was when my classmate said this to me: "cheyyy, play cheat one!" haha.
Since then, I've been using recipes and stuff. But sometimes I failed too. My cakes or cupcakes are nice, but they are not really moist.
Anyway, my upcoming project will be:
1. Baking more delicious & moist cupcakes! (hopefully, haha.)
2. Doing a vintage tote? --> My first DIY tote turned out not too bad...(:
